Experience the Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Updated: Nov 30, 2022

Enter the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, only if you DARE to bring the scenes from the books and movies to life. Every once in a while you find a location that is themed so well that you are immersed in the experience far further than you thought possible. Diagon Alley was this experience for me. As you hover an area that looks like London you see a very odd purple 3 decker bus.... hmmmm what could this be or symbolize? None other than the start of our very own adventure! You see, Universal was very careful not to label Diagon Alley, and the knight bus is the only thing marking its entrance.

Step into the uneven portal of bricks and you will see the whimsical world at your footsteps. It is not uncommon to see people share a tear or two as they step into the magic, completly caught off guard and often not expecting the level that Universal would take it to. From interactive wand experiences (cast your own spells and watch the magic begin), to Knockturn Alley, guests are sure to find something new around every corner. Perhaps it is the interactive wand experience at Olivanders, or some specialty ice cream at Florean Fortescue's Ice-Cream Parlour. Perhaps it is a visit to Gringott's Bank for your first ride through our the stories!?

The Butterbeer

This is where the debate begins. Do you want it cold, frozen, or a hot brew?! I will tell you, I swear by the frozen only because the Florida sun is too hot for the hot brew in my opinion. HOWEVER, give me a chilly night and I would be on board! This drink has fans everywhere trying to copy its flavors. From Cream Soda to butterscotch and Dr. Pepper, the combinations are endless to repeat this masterpiece. Splitting this super sweet treat as well as waiting until you have ridden Forbidden Journey would be my biggest suggestions I hope you do not take lightly!!! (Not a drink you want shaken or stirred)

The butterbeer can be found all over the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but the best place, in my opinion, would be from the little stands in Hogsmeade. From Diagon Alley you would board platform 9 3/4 at Kings Crossing and not without your very own video to capture this experience of you passing through the bricks. Board the Hogswart Express and prepare for your own journey, but beware of the dementors, because you never know when they could board your train...

In Hogsmeade you will find all kinds of shops and even bathrooms that are themed and ready for you to explore! Yes, I said bathrooms. Moaning Myrtle can be heard in Hogsmeade's bathroom across from Hagrid's Motorbikes! Speaking of this ride, it is a real don't miss experience. Technology that puts people in awe every time. Don't let the long waits keep you away, because it is one of those rides no one seems to regret waiting for. Be sure to ride Forbidden Journey, Hagrids, and Flight of the Hippogriff all while here in Hogsmeade. Where is my favorite place to eat?

Three Broomsticks every single time, and I always get the rotisserie chicken meal. This meal comes with corn on the cob and some potatoes seasoned with rosemary. It is a nice break from theme park food and I always pair it with an apple cider.

Did you know you can't get normal drinks in any of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter? No coke is sold here, you will have to escape to Jurassic World or another location if you want those brands because they haven't heard of it here! Just Pumpkin Fizz, Apple Cider, Pear Cider, and an assortment of Butterbeers.... with your occasional Gillywater.

Kings Cross Station

Don't forget to ride the Hogwart Express both directions because both directions have a completely different experience. (You will need a park-to-park ticket)

In conclusion there are 3 things I would be sure to do while visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

1. Get a Wand, yes they are expensive but they will repair them for life and this is truly the immersive experience especially for those who don't want to ride every ride!

2. Ride the Hogwarts Express both directions and be sure to ride the rides BEFORE eating! 3. Three Broomsticks with an apple cider followed by a late night butterbeer is the only way to go! Wanting to experience Universal or Disney? Reach out to me today for your free quote!
